We heard back from the organizers of the Team System Event in Denver.  Here is what they had to say:

While we can’t extend the event’s capacity (we’re at capacity for our largest room), we are accepting waitlisters still. Some folks should still be able to register to the waitlist. We usually try to register to 130% capacity to account for drop-off.

At worst case, we’re also planning to stream the event live via Live Meeting. We can fit another 500 people that way – not quite the same experience, but at least it’s better than nothing.
